Benedict's Law

1st October 2026

Benedict’s Law is a national legislative and statutory framework in England that mandates consistent allergy safety standards and emergency protocols in schools. It was established following the tragic death of five-year-old Benedict Blythe, who suffered a fatal anaphylactic reaction to cow's milk at school in 2021. Spearheaded by his family through the Benedict Blythe Foundation alongside allergy charities, the measures were incorporated via the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act and came into force in September 2026.

Parents can see the school's Allergy Safety Policy HERE.

Please remember that St. Michael's is a nut-free school. Students must not being any product containing nuts onto the site.
