Articulation 2026 - London Heat at the Courtauld Institute of Art

3rd February 2026

On 12th January 2026  Victoria, in Yr12, spoke at the Courtauld Institute of Art as the St Michaels candidate for 'Articulation',  a public speaking competition run by the National Gallery of Art. Students are invited to each deliver a 10-minute presentation to an audience about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice. Adjudicators then assess each presentation as a whole, looking at content, structure, delivery and the speaker’s original approach and unique potential and select the best presentation.
Victoria chose to speak about a very thought provoking and challenging piece of art by artist Felix Gonzalez Torres called “Untitled (Portrait of Ross in LA)”.
She did a magnificent job and came first in the heat.
The adjudicators Alex Bispham and Dr Alan Crookham congratulated Victoria 'on her deep and thoughtful engagement with the work. Her presentation was confidently and clearly shared with the audience, taking us all on a compelling journey. Victoria spoke eloquently about how we engage with art and the choices available to viewers, demonstrating insight, clarity, and a strong personal voice throughout.'

Many congratulations to Victoria. She is now going to the London finals on 10th March and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Love one another, as I have loved you
