African Food Sale 2025

19th November 2025

African Food Sale 2025  - Written by Odi (10S)

This year marked the 4th annual African Food Sale at St. Michael’s, held in celebration of Black History Month, and once again, it was a huge success! Together, we raised an amazing £906.70 for the school — thank you to everyone who planned, supported, and contributed.

Students from the African community came together to make this event another memorable one for 2025.
Our popular meal deal (jollof rice and chicken/meat) was available on ParentPay, while delicious snacks such as puff puff, chin chin, plantain, and drinks were sold separately for cash.
This year, Caribbean jerk chicken was introduced for the first time and it sold out.
To add more color and pride to the day, many of us wore small stoles made out of Nigerian and Kenyan African materials over our school uniforms — bringing extra joy and energy to the event.

A special thank you goes out to the amazing mums who came to help on the day, the students who served food and counted money, and everyone who donated food or drinks. Your efforts made this day truly special.

Thank you to the senior leadership team who have supported this initiative for the last 4 years. Your support and guidance are very much appreciated.

Finally, if you would like to be involved or have any suggestions for next year’s sale, please see Libby (10C) or Odi (10S) — we’d love to include you and hear your ideas!

We can’t wait to make the African Food Sale 2026 even bigger and better!
