Consultation on Admission Arrangements 2027/28
From September 2027 entry onwards applicants will need to provide a Certificate of Baptism in the Catholic Church and Certificate of Catholic Practice (dated within 3 months of applying) to meet the criteria of Baptised Catholic girls, from a Practising Catholic family (evidenced by a Certificate of Catholic Practice from their Parish Priest). In the absence of a Certificate of Baptism in the Catholic Church, ie if the child was baptised in another faith but is now a Practising Catholic, they will need to provide a Certificate of Reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
This change has been proposed to clarify the term ‘Catholic’ as contained within the Definitions section of the policy and defined by the Diocese of Westminster. The definition of Practising Catholic family can also be found in the Definitions section of the policy.
The Governing Body invite your views on the consultation of our Admissions Policy 2027/28. Further information on the proposed changes can be found in the documents below. The consultation period will commence on 20 October 2025 and finish on 2 December 2025. All views should be submitted to admissions@st-michaels.barnet.sch.uk by the closing date.
