Jubilant students celebrate their successful transition to University!
A day of joy for large numbers of St Michael’s students whose hard work during the turbulent time of lockdown and beyond has been rewarded with places at the most sought-after universities and most competitive courses: Many students this year have elected to stay in London with 13 going to Kings, 9 to Imperial and 8 to UCL, although Manchester has also attracted 13 St Michael’s students and 5 will be going to either Oxford or Cambridge.
Both Engineering and the Medical Sciences have proven very popular this year with 15 students electing to study some form of Engineering and 7 students off to study Medicine, as well significant numbers studying English, Chemistry and Biomedical Science.
The grades awarded this year were the product of many hours of assessments completed for each subject – most of which were under exam conditions and were no easier than the normal exam-based A Levels.
Given the uncertain time over the last 18 months, the success achieved this year by our students was all the more impressive; evidence of the dedication and ambition of our Sixth Formers.
Well done to all – you are an example to all those in the younger years – you have shown them that the pandemic will not prevent any St Michael’s student from achieving their dreams!
